Lake Bunyoni, Uganda

Chad and I had the opportunity to visit a local orphanage near Kabale, Uganda in Lake Bunyoni.  Spending time with the children was really a gratifying experience.  They were so happy to see us as we were them.  We sang, danced, played some soccer and had lunch with the children.  Afterwards, our group hit the lake for some swimming. It’s the deepest lake in Africa at 6,500ft!

Hell’s Gate National Park, Kenya

Chad and I had the opportunity the other day to visit HGNP on Tuesday.  Just a few hours outside of Nairobi, we stayed at a campground and took our rented mountain bikes to the park. Needless to say it was amazing. Posted below are some of our pics. After three days in Kenya, we’re just arriving to Uganda where we’ll be staying before our trip to Rwanda for gorilla trekking.

Hello from Nairobi!

country lodge 2 <- Country Lodge Hotel Lobby

So after almost 15 hours of flying half-way across the world, Chad and I are finally in Nairobi. It's quite nice here,  a lot more developed than I would've thought.  The climate is tropical so I'm happy to be walking around in sandals.  Food's been good so far - the pasta here is better than the pasta we had in Brooklyn a few days ago and the hotel coffee is better than any hotel coffee I've ever had.  So if not for anything else, come to Kenya for pasta and coffee!  We'll be heading off for our Africa overland excursion tomorrow so today we're just going to relax and tour the area a bit.  Sorry for the unremarkable post as we haven't really experienced much thus far.
